Corpus Christi FISHING charter
Vagabond Flats guide service takes you straight to some of the best inshore fishing spots in the country. Discover South Texas’ famed fishing grounds as you explore the productive flats and drift along the clear shallow waters near Corpus Christi, Texas. We offer year round private full day and half day fishing trips tailored to meet your group’s needs. They are open to new and experienced anglers looking to catch some of Texas’ most prestigious fish. Capt. Grady Skelton is an expert in wade fishing, so get in the water and battle fish in their element. Or glide along the water drift fishing and sight casting from the boat as you pursue a trophy.
Vagabond Flats offers multi-boat trips for large groups and corporate events. Capt. Grady is also available for fishing tournaments.
THE MARINA
Begin your day at Marker 37 Marina.
We will meet at Marker 37 Marina in the morning located off of JFK Causeway, right next door to Snoopy’s Pier. The marina is stocked with snacks, drinks and tackle. There are also clean bathrooms for public use. Grab a breakfast taco on our way out from FishTales, the marina’s bar and grill, and a cold drink once we hit the dock. If your group decides to keep fish, your catch can be cleaned here for a small charge.
rates
Rates begin at $850. These trips last up to 7 hours, until your group has limited out or are done fishing. This rate includes the price of bait.
Deposit
A $200 deposit is required to reserve the date. Cancellation due to weather conditions or unforeseen complications are at the discretion of the Captain. In such cases, deposits will be refunded or held to reserve rescheduled date.
cancellations
Non-weather related cancellations require at least 14 days notice. Cancellations within 14 days will result in full deposit charge for the charter.
gear
Rods, reels, tackle and lures will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own gear.
personal items
A Texas Saltwater Fishing License is required of any angler 17 and older. Sunglasses (preferably polarized) and sunscreen are critical. Please wear a hat, proper attire, buff, sun gloves, and non-scuffing deck or boat shoes. Waders and/or wading boots if necessary.
additional items
Feel free to bring any personal food or drink you would like. If your group would like to keep fish, there is a fishing cleaning service at Marker 37 Marina available for use for a small fee per pound. Please bring a cooler for your cleaned fish.
All captains/guides under Vagabond Flats, LLC are USCG licensed and have obtained a TPWD Guides License.
Please note, rates do not include gratuity.
All must agree to our safety waiver before the trip begins.
